Our holiday in Spain and France

We recently spent two weeks in France having driven from Lincoln to Plymouth via a night stop near Bath. Then we had 18 hours on the ferry to Santander in Spain and another night stop. Next day we drove on the A8 motorway to Biarritz for a night stop there. For the final part of our journey we drove on the A64 to Tarbe, then ten miles to Camales, the village we would be staying with friends in.

While in France we took the opportunity to visit our clubmates Keith and Carol fair, who now live in France permanently. They gave us a lovely lunch outside in the sun. Then showed us a French thunderstorm, very impressive.

The highlight of our driving experience was driving over the Col d Aspin, at 1487m or 4889ft, higher than Ben Nevis! BBM69 boiled once on the way but a cool off and top up of water soon had us on our way again.

For our return we retraced our steps with more time for a look around in Biarritz.

The worst part of the whole trip was getting around Exeter in the South West of England, The A38 where it splits of to the A380 was no fun at all.
